North Coast
This part of the island has seen less construction than the east coast beaches of Chaweng and Lamai, and many afford a greater sense of having got away from it all.

This is one of the best beaches on the island for windsurfing or sailing dinghies and catamarans.The Big Buddha, a huge Buddha image presiding over a poplar shrine is a prime attraction for visitors. Bophut also one place to get boats across to Koh Pha Ngan, to the north.

Mae Nam Beach
Two kilometers from Bo Phut Beach is situated a peaceful and white sandy beach, of about 5 kilometers. It is extremely delightful for families and honeymooners who seek for romantic private atmosphere.

The community in the area is quite large and well developed. Also located there is the Samui-Pangan Pier. As a result, there are many accommodations, restaurants, diving services, and water sport apparatus shops, without noisy bars nor clubs.

Even though Mae Nam Beach is not so prominent in the originality of its community as Bo Phut Beach, a lot of tourists choose Mae Nam Beach because of its clean sandy beach, beautiful scenery, and peaceful-ness. Swimming and sunbathing on Mae Nam Beach is always a very impressive relaxation.

As it is a tranquil beach, the tourists who want to change for the merriment of the night have to drive elsewhere on the eastern coast.

Location and Access
It is in the north of the island, 12 kilometers from Nathon.
