Where to stay in Samui

If you are looking for a lively nightlife Chaweng would be your best option. The further south you go to Lamai and Natien the resorts become quieter though they have bars and restaurants open until midnight.

North Coast
This part of the island has seen less construction than the east coast beaches of Chaweng and Lamai, and many afford a greater sense of haveing got away from it all.

This is one of the best beaches on the island for windsurfing or sailing dinghies and catamarans.The Big Buddha, a huge Buddha image presiding over a popular shrine is a prime attraction for visitors. Bophut also one place to get boats across to Koh Pha Ngan, to the north.

Bo Phut Beach
The sandy Beach Beading along the northern bay of the island never disappoints any tourists who seek for peaceful and privacy. Apart from the beautiful natural scenery, the tourist are also impressed by the original lifestyle of the local fishermen. The calm sea is very pleasurable for water skiing, but not for swimming as it is near a fishing village and piers. For swimming, the tourists should be quite far from them. Remaining on the two sides of a small road along Bo Phut beach are the traces of Chinese community. All the shops, travel agencies, and restaurant along this road are modified from the Chinese original architectural structure.

The night on Bo Phut Beach is fascinatingly romantic, with a joyful festive atmosphere.

Location and Access
It is on the northern coast, not far from Bang Rak Beach.
